South of Scotland Wildlife Hospital was established by a local vet, representatives of the Barony College and parties interested in helping wildlife.
The first unofficial meeting was held in November 1995 with the hospital receiving charity status in February 1997.
We were officially opened in May 1997
Our main aims are to rescue, rehabilitate and release our native wildlife.
Animals are brought to us by members of the public, SSPCA and surrounding veterinary practices.
Although we are on the Barony College grounds we are an independent charity run solely on the donations from members of the public and charitable organisations.
